The Power of "Yet"

How often do you just give up the moment something becomes hard for you to accomplish? Do you lose perseverance when you struggle? What about when something new to you is difficult to grasp--do you just decide you are incapable? I'll admit that I do! What about you?
Recently, I became aware of a growth mindset that teachers are using in order to instill their students with hope. This mindset is called "The Power of Yet." Basically, teachers take action to instill this mindset within their students when they become irritated over a lesson. When they say they cannot do it teachers simply respond with, "Yet. You cannot do it yet." When I first heard this it became very real to me that our world is full of people, not just students, who need to be reminded that some things just take time to grasp. As humans we are very, very impatient. We like for things to go right the first time, not the second or third time. We are very irritable and become aggravated when a concept becomes difficult for us to grasp. We just give up.
Today, I wanted to encourage you to not give up. It is so easy to do, but it so much more important that we focus on the "not yet" and keep trying. Last year, I shared with you the phrase, "God answers prayer in three different ways: yes, no, and not yet." He may say "yes" because He knows we deserve it. He may say "no" because He knows we deserve better. He may say "not yet" because He knows that the best is yet to come. You see, some things just take time. Sometimes, we just have to rely on God knowing that he will bless us with the talents, knowledge, and goals that we strive to succeed in. Sometimes it takes us a while to grasp concepts and to succeed in things, and it is so important that we know that it is okay for us to fail sometimes. God has a perfect timing and we must have faith that he will always get us to where we need to be.
Okay, so maybe you cannot grasp a concept today or even tomorrow. Maybe you have told yourself that it is just inevitable to not happen. But maybe, just maybe, it is just inevitable to not happen YET. Just know, that there is no mountain that you cannot climb. It just takes a little time and perseverance. You have all that it takes to accomplish your goals. Always remember to never give up, keep trying, and know that "yet" is right around the corner!

Have a lovely week and stay faithful, friends!

Love always,
Gracie
