Be Thankful You Are Always His

We are told that we are so many different things in this life--good and bad. We are told that we are winners, losers, athletes, artists, talented, un-talented, smart, stupid, mean, nice, beautiful, ugly, worthy, worthless, and so, so much more. The list literally goes on forever and ever. Sadly, it is inevitable that people are going to give your certain titles in your life--some that you may be okay with and some that will affect you terribly. We seem to let ourselves get wrapped up in these titles that we are given, and we forget that they hold very little value compared to who we are in God's eyes. These titles only make up pieces of who we are, and sometimes they are not even true, yet we still listen to them. These titles and names are destined to change at some point in our lives, and they may not even matter in a few years. However, did you know that there is one thing that you will always be in this life that will NEVER change? 

You will always be God's. 

What a gift it is that we can be called children of God! I cannot think of anything more humbling or more praiseworthy other than knowing that we are forever God's! All the other titles that we are given should seem so much smaller compared to being a child of God! We should forever be thankful that we are His. And what better time than now since Thanksgiving is just around the corner!?! This  Thanksgiving we should most definitely be thankful for our family and friends, and even our material goods that we have been blessed with. But we should mostly be thankful for the fact that God chose us first! He chose us to be His before we ever knew exactly who He is. Is that not amazing and worth being thankful for?? I pray that this Thanksgiving you are reminded just how loved you are by our God. I sincerely hope that you always know that you were His before you were anything else. You will be His not just today or tomorrow, but always! You are so worthy of so much not just because you are a winner, kind, beautiful, or talented, but because you are God's! You are always His, and that is worth being thankful for.
