When We Feel like Giving Up
Well, exams are right around the corner, and I don't know about you, but I am not quite ready for them. I have been trying to face the reality with that lately, and I am still not in the exam mindset, which is probably not a good thing! Exams are my least favorite time of year, which I am sure most of you can agree with. Every year during exams I go through the same process of feelings:
I freak out, I cry, I stress out, I get frustrated, and I ultimately feel like giving up.
It is very easy for most of us to just give up in difficult situations. When things become too difficult to understand or accomplish we simply just give up. We "face the facts" that we are incapable of accomplishing whatever the circumstances may be. In the moment, we think that we are doing what is best for ourselves by just giving up and moving on when really we are not doing what is best for ourselves. We are not pushing ourselves to accomplish the impossible. We are not showing others what we are capable of, and we are ultimately not showing ourselves what we are capable of.
Giving up is our easy way out of things, and it is our escape from difficulty. However, did you ever think that giving up is what causes us to be unable to experience success? When we give up and tell ourselves we are unable of success we are only hurting ourselves. We are not living up to our full potential and showing the world what we are made of. We are withholding ourselves from the feeling of triumph and success. We are causing ourselves to feel unworthy. In the end, we are making ourselves feel like failures.
Exam time is one of the most common times of the year when we feel most like giving up. We are stressed out and frustrated, so we pull ourselves out of this state by giving up. Ultimately, by giving up we are failing. We are not putting the faith in ourselves that we are capable. By giving up we are simply telling ourselves that we are incapable. When really we are capable of anything and everything. We can do whatever we set our mind to. God instilled in each and everyone of us the gifts, tools, and abilities that we need to accomplish anything. It is our duty to make Him proud by using the gifts and tools He gave us. God never wants us to give up because He knows that in the end we will only feel empty. God tells us time and time again that He will be our guide when times are difficult. He will be our light in the darkness of confusion. When we are overwhelmed and feel blinded by stress we give up instead of placing all of our feelings and stress in God's hands.
I challenge you in the coming weeks to not give up, but instead give it all to God. He will make what seems impossible possible. He will make all right. I know exam time is frustrating and stressful. I know that it is easy to just give up. But I do not want you to tell yourself that you are incapable. When really you are capable of it all! Do not let exams get you down, and do not let yourself make you feel less than worthy of accomplishments. I have complete faith in each and every one of you! I know that with God's guiding hand you will accomplish anything that you set your heart and mind to.
But whatever you do...do not give up! Just keep going and trying harder!
I know each and every one of you will do more than amazing on your exams! Just remember that it is just a grade. It does not define you by any means. However, it is still important that you do your best, which I know that each and every one of you are capable of!
Just stay faithful in yourself and you will do great!
Have a wonderful week and stay faithful, friends!
Love,
Gracie
