He Who Brought Joy
It is Week 3 of Advent, which means that Christmas is literally next week!! I could not be more happier! Christmas is definitely my favorite time of the year, which I think is a common consensus for most people! The whole season just makes me so happy because it is the one time out of the year that everyone is full of so much joy. And I believe Jesus to be the reason for all that joy. You guys, our world is so dark and so harsh. It breaks my heart to hear about people who are going through such terrible situations, to see so many people hurting others, and to feel a sense of such cruelness in this world. However, Christmas time is the one time of the year that I feel all the harshness of this world to die down. We all come together to celebrate the one true provider of joy: Jesus!
A lighter colored candle (the pink candle) is lit on the third week of Advent instead of a dark purple candle. This symbolizes that what once was dark is now becoming lighter and that joy is on its way. Jesus' birth is the greatest celebration this world has ever experienced. It is the day when God the Father became man by sending his Son to earth to save us. His birth brought so much joy and light to the world. Jesus brought the joy of the Lord here with him to this earth, and it is so important that we continue to share that joy with everyone. Like I said earlier, this world is so, so dark, and it is in need of so much light and joy. It is our job to find the joy inside of us and share it with the world. Christmas is the best time to find our joy. No matter what we may be going through this Christmas, we can be truly joyful and happy because we know we are God's children, and that he loved us so much that he sent his Son to save us.
Christmas is such a busy time of the year, and it so easy for us to forget the true meaning of why we get to celebrate Christmas. If it was not for the birth of our sweet Lord, then we would not even have the celebration of Christmas. It is so easy for us to forget the true meaning of Christmas (believe me, I understand!) because so much is going on. This Christmas I challenge you to look at Christmas in a whole new way. I encourage you to invite Jesus into your hearts this Christmas, and to make room for him in your busy schedule. I pray that Jesus is the center of your Christmas and that he makes it all the more brighter and merrier!
Merry Christmas, friends!
Love always,
